1. Tuesday’s Hub Lab on Tax Time Ease has been RESCHEDULED to August 26 at noon.
2. County Line Harvest is coming to Hub Berkeley every Tuesday from 4-6pm starting next Tuesday, August 17. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a box for $25 or just show up to take one home. This produce, tried and enthusiastically approved by the Hub’s Sexy Salad over the last two weeks, is beautiful, and this is a convenient way to support local farming that’s good for the planet and good for you.
And now, lovely members, I’m hoping you’ll indulge me for a moment on a serious but sincere topic. If you read your emails from the Hub as quickly and thoroughly as I’m convinced you do, you’ve heard by now that I’m moving on from my position at the Hub at the end of this month. A few months back, I decided to become certified as a life and professional coach through a program that starts in early October. After much soul searching and internal debate, I also decided that in order to have the space, support, and energy I need to move in this new direction, I need to leave my position at the Hub.
I want you to know that you did not make this decision easy for me. Though I’m very excited about this next step in my life, I’m also sad that I won’t be working with most of you on a daily basis anymore. Y’all have inspired me, energized me, moved me, made me laugh, and convinced me that despite the enormity of the world’s problems, there is much reason to be hopeful, since our best and brightest people are working to solve them. Y’all are without a doubt some of the best and brightest–and funniest and warmest–people I have ever known.
My coaching program is in San Francisco, and I plan to come by the Hub as much as I can. So even though I won’t be working for the Hub anymore, I may still be able to work at the Hub, and regardless I hope to stay in touch and perhaps even collaborate in the future.
If you’d like to come and officially say good-bye, the Hub is throwing a farewell bash on August 20 (I swear I had nothing to do with the picture on the invitation).
Thank you for your optimism, courage, love, and commitment. It took all of these things for you to join the Hub and turn it into such a vibrant and powerful community, one that I’m truly sad to step away from.

Free Consulting for Non Profits
The Berkeley Group (TBG) is currently recruiting clients for this upcoming Fall term. TBG was founded in 2003 with the goal of using innovative ideas and passionate people to help SF Bay Area nonprofits. Each semester, they work with six non-profits for 12 weeks, helping with a wide range of projects, including: strategic planning, marketing, financial planning, brand management, and more. They provide all of their services pro bono.
If you interested (and TBG does occasionally work with non-registered entities), you can fill out the application here. They do not expect you to have a formal project proposal outlined in the application—they would simply like to know the key issues currently facing your organization and how you think our services can help address them.
