Tomorrow, Wednesday April 28, is movie night! We will be showing A Village Called Versailles, a documentary that tells the struggle of Vietnamese-American refugees in New Orleans fighting to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina, only to have their homes threatened by a new government-imposed toxic landfill.
A Village Called Versailles tells the empowering story of how the Versailles people, who have already suffered so much in their lifetime, turn a devastating disaster into a catalyst for change and a chance for a better future.
Loan Dao, associate producer of the movie and community liaison/organizer, will be on hand for a Question and Answer session afterwards. Check out the website here and make sure you come on over and watch A Village Called Versailles with us from 6:30-8:30pm @ Hub Berkeley.
