IDWG Potluck: Ending Violence Against Women

Pull out your calendars and save the date for Wednesday March 17. The International Development Working Group will be holding its monthly potluck, discussing, among other issues, Ending Violence Against Women. Jimmie Briggs will be speaking at the event. He is the founder of ManUp, an international campaign to activate boys and young men in a movement to stop violence against women and girls. Over the last decade, Briggs has established his reputation as one of the most respected human rights advocates in journalism. His work has appeared in countless publications including The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, and Life. He is a National Magazine Award finalist and recipient of honors from the Open Society Institute. His work has also been recognized by the National Association of Black Journalist, the Alicia Patterson Foundation and Carter Center.
